KCPC Inspects Cooking Oil Quality at Galadima Market

The Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KCPC) has carried out an inspection of cooking oil containers at Galadima Market, Kano, to verify product quality, confirm accurate measurements, and ensure compliance with consumer protection regulations.
In a statement signed by the Director Public Enlightenment of the Council Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai disclosed that, The exercise also assessed the hygienic conditions under which the products are sold as part of the Council’s efforts to safeguard public health and protect consumers from adulterated or substandard products.
KCPC Ramps Up Market Surveillance, Urges Companies to Prioritize Product Quality and Consumer Safety
Speaking during the inspection, the Executive Secretary of KCPC, Dr. Ibrahim Garba Muhammad, reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to protecting consumers’ rights and ensuring that products sold in markets across the state meet approved quality standards.
He urged residents to remain vigilant when purchasing food items, noting that consumer awareness is vital in preventing fraudulent practices and the sale of adulterated products.
Dr. Muhammad commended the Kano State Government for its continued support in strengthening the Council’s consumer protection initiatives. He also called on cooking oil traders to comply with established regulations and work with the Council to eliminate adulterated products from the market in the interest of public health.
