Emir of Rano Champions Women and Children’s Welfare, Lauds Sahima Foundation’s Multi-Million Naira Healthcare Initiative

, His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammad Isa Umaru Autan Bawo, has called on local government authorities, philanthropists, and development partners across the Rano Emirate to intensify efforts toward improving the welfare and living conditions of women and children.
The Emir made the appeal during the launch of a free medical support programme worth millions of naira for pregnant women and children. The initiative was organized and funded by the Sahima Charity Foundation and held at the Rano-Dawaki Clinic in Rano Local Government Area.

According to a statement issued by the Zonal Information Officer in charge of Rano Zone, Abdullahi Musa Gyadi Gyadi, the Emir commended the Secretary of Rano Local Government and Founder of the Sahima Charity Foundation, Dr. Isma’il Yusuf Musa, for his unwavering commitment to enhancing the well-being of vulnerable groups in society.
Dr. Muhammad Isa Umaru praised the foundation’s efforts in providing healthcare support for pregnant women and children, as well as empowering married women, widows, and young girls through various vocational and entrepreneurship training programmes aimed at promoting self-reliance.
He urged communities throughout Rano Local Government and the wider emirate to prioritize initiatives that support women and children, stressing that sustainable development can only be achieved when the most vulnerable members of society are adequately catered for.
The Emir also expressed appreciation to the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for approving key infrastructural projects within the emirate, including the rehabilitation of the five-kilometre street lighting project in Rano town and the reconstruction of major roads such as the Karfi–Rano–Rurum Road and other strategic routes.
Speaking at the event, the APC Caucus Chairman in Rano Local Government, Alhaji Wada Abdullahi Rano, pledged continued support for the activities of the Sahima Charity Foundation, particularly its healthcare and financial assistance programmes targeting pregnant women and children.
He encouraged public-spirited youths and well-meaning individuals to emulate the philanthropic contributions of the foundation and prominent benefactors such as Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano in order to further uplift the living standards of women and families in the area.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Rano Local Government Council, Malam Muhammad Naziru Ya’u, represented by the Speaker of the Council, Alhaji Ahmad Jibrin Gidan Zangi, expressed satisfaction with the foundation’s achievements and assured it of the council’s continued support and collaboration.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Sahima Charity Foundation and Secretary of Rano Local Government Council, Dr. Isma’il Yusuf Musa, highlighted the foundation’s remarkable achievements within its first year of operation.
He disclosed that beyond providing free medical support to pregnant women and children, the foundation has trained numerous married women, widows, and young girls in various vocational skills and has sponsored the education of several female students.
Dr. Musa expressed profound appreciation to Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano, the Emir of Rano, Alhaji Wada Abdullahi Rano, BBY, Salbas, and other supporters whose contributions have enabled the foundation to successfully implement programmes in healthcare, education, skills acquisition, and scholarship support for female students.
Beneficiaries of the foundation’s vocational training programmes, including those trained in the production of Humra perfume, scented oil blends, liquid detergent, Izal disinfectant, and modern graphic design techniques such as flyer production, expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided.
They appealed to the Rano Local Government Council and the Emirate Council to assist them with a suitable marketplace where they can showcase and sell their products, thereby enhancing their economic independence and sustainability.
