KSPHCMB, Partners Strengthen Stakeholder Engagement for Effective SARMAAN Implementation in Kano

The Kano State Primary Healthcare Management Board (KSPHCMB), in collaboration with the Kano State Ministry of Health and development partners including Sightsavers, HANDS and SCIIDaR, has intensified efforts towards the successful implementation of SARMAAN through a State Sensitization, Stakeholder Engagement and Awareness Creation Meeting held at the Board’s Headquarters in Kano.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations officer of the Board Sa’adatu Suleiman stressed that, The engagement brought together Zonal Directors, Zonal Immunization Officers, Zonal Health Educators, Primary Health Care Coordinators (PHCCs), Health Educators, Local Government Immunization Officers from the 36 implementing Local Government Areas, as well as other key stakeholders in the health sector.

The meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration, enhancing community awareness and promoting coordinated actions towards the effective rollout of SARMAAN across Kano State. It also served as a platform for health managers, frontline officers and development partners to harmonize strategies geared towards improving public health interventions and strengthening grassroots participation.

Speaking on behalf of the Director General of KSPHCMB, Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, the Director of Environment and Public Health, Abdul Sani Ungogo, reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery through strong partnerships, sustained public sensitization and effective community engagement.

He emphasized that stakeholder cooperation and collective responsibility remain critical to the success of SARMAAN and other healthcare interventions across the state.

Representatives of Sightsavers, HANDS and SCIIDaR commended the Kano State Government and KSPHCMB for their proactive leadership and unwavering commitment towards strengthening the health sector. They also pledged continued technical and collaborative support to ensure the successful implementation of SARMAAN and related public health programmes in the state.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment among participants to intensify awareness creation, strengthen coordination mechanisms and promote community ownership to ensure the successful implementation of SARMAAN throughout Kano State.
