Gwarzo LG Chairman Sponsors 20 Women for Free Midwifery Training

The Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government Area, Dr. Mani Tsoho, has sponsored 20 women to undergo free midwifery training as part of his administration’s commitment to expanding access to education and strengthening healthcare delivery across the local government.
Speaking while presenting admission letters to the beneficiaries shortly after the Gwarzo Security Council meeting, Dr. Tsoho said investing in women’s education, particularly in the health sector, is a strategic step toward building healthier families and more prosperous communities.
In a statement signed by the Auwalu Musa Yola Zonal Information officer Gwarzo Zone stated that, the Council Chairman noted that empowering women with professional healthcare skills would not only improve maternal and child health services but also contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of Gwarzo Local Government.
The Chairman commended the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for placing education at the forefront of his administration’s development agenda, describing investment in education as one of the most effective ways to develop human capital and improve the wellbeing of citizens.
Dr. Tsoho urged the beneficiaries to remain dedicated to their studies and uphold good conduct throughout their training, reminding them that they are ambassadors of Gwarzo Local Government.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, some of the students expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government and the Gwarzo Local Government Chairman for the life-changing scholarship opportunity. They pledged to study diligently, acquire the necessary professional knowledge and skills, and contribute meaningfully to improving healthcare services in their communities upon graduation.
The presentation ceremony was attended by the Vice Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government, the Leader of the Legislative Council, political appointees, the District Head of Gwarzo, the Sarkin Dawaki Mai Tuta of Kano, security personnel, and other distinguished guests.
