Retired Director Calls for Sustained Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities

A retired public servant, Hajiya Binta Bala, has called on stakeholders, government agencies, development partners and the public to sustain efforts aimed at empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), stressing that the responsibility must continue beyond her years of active service.
Speaking at the conclusion of her distinguished 35-year career in the public service, Hajiya Binta urged colleagues and advocates to remain committed to promoting inclusion, equal opportunities and the welfare of Persons with Disabilities.
“Empowering PWDs must continue. I hand the baton to you all,” she said.
Reflecting on her career, Hajiya Binta Bala expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting her the opportunity to serve, while also appreciating her family, colleagues, friends and mentors for their unwavering support throughout her journey.
She described her years in public service as fulfilling and impactful, noting that the achievements recorded over the decades were made possible through collaboration, dedication and the encouragement of those around her.
“Thirty-five years of service. One remarkable journey. A lifetime of gratitude,” she said.
Hajiya Binta Bala reaffirmed her confidence that the next generation of leaders and advocates would continue to champion the cause of inclusion and empowerment for Persons with Disabilities, ensuring that no one is left behind.
