Kano Government Appoints Dr. Dalhatu Sani as Acting Managing Director of KNUPDA

The Kano State Government has appointed the Director-General of the Kano Geographic Information System (KANGIS), Dr. Dalhatu Aliyu Sani, as the Acting Managing Director of the Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA).
The appointment takes immediate effect and was formally communicated through a directive issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Farouk Umar Ibrahim.
Dr. Sani currently serves as the Director-General of KANGIS and also chairs the State Task Force Committee on the Identification of Illegal Structures across Kano State. His appointment comes following the suspension of the former Managing Director of KNUPDA, Hajiya Hauwa Hassan Tudun Wada, and the Director of Architecture, Hajiya Bilkisu, pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation into alleged violations of town planning regulations.
Speaking shortly after assuming office on Monday, Dr. Sani expressed profound appreciation to the Kano State Government for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to discharge his responsibilities with diligence, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to public service.
The Acting Managing Director prayed for Allah’s guidance and support in the discharge of his new responsibilities and reaffirmed his dedication to advancing the mandate of KNUPDA. He also assured the government and the people of Kano State of his resolve to strengthen urban planning processes, promote sustainable development, and restore public confidence in the authority.
The Kano State Government reiterated its commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective service delivery in all agencies responsible for urban planning and development across the state.
