Wurma Describes Katsina as Northern Nigeria’s Most Peaceful State, Highlights Radda’s Achievements

The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Governor of Katsina State, Hon. Mannir Wurma, has described Katsina as the most peaceful state in Northern Nigeria, attributing the improvement in security to the strategic measures introduced by the administration of Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda.
Speaking with journalists in Katsina, Wurma said the state’s security situation has improved significantly as a result of the government’s proactive policies, including community-based peace initiatives and negotiations aimed at restoring stability in previously troubled local government areas.

According to him, the return of peace has led to the reopening of local markets, while farmers have resumed agricultural activities in communities that were once affected by insecurity.
Wurma, a former Chairman of Kurfi Local Government and the recently elected Publicity Secretary of the Association of Former Local Government Chairmen, commended security agencies for their commitment and sacrifices in restoring peace across the state.
He urged residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible information that would assist in identifying and apprehending criminal elements and dismantling their hideouts.
Highlighting the achievements of the Radda administration over the past three and a half years, Wurma said the government has fulfilled many of its campaign promises through investments in healthcare, education, road construction, water supply, rural development, and other critical sectors.
He noted that the administration has revitalized Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by providing interest-free loans to entrepreneurs, thereby supporting business growth and economic empowerment.
According to Wurma, hundreds of youths and women have also benefited from vocational and skills acquisition programmes implemented through the Ministry of Women Affairs, the Department of Girl Child Education, and the Youth Craft Village.
He further explained that the Community Development Programme (CDP) has strengthened grassroots development by empowering ward-level communities to identify, implement, and maintain projects tailored to their needs. He added that the programme ensures community priorities are incorporated into the state’s annual budget.
Wurma stated that, in recognition of these achievements, the Association of Former Local Government Chairmen has endorsed Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for re-election, expressing confidence in his administration’s continued commitment to peace, development, and good governance
