The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, on Saturday attended a wedding ceremony and paid a series of sympathy and condolence visits to families across different parts of Kano State, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to standing with citizens during both moments of joy and times of grief.
In a statement signed by Malam Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu Public Relations Officer Office of the Deputy Governor, Kano State stressed that, The Deputy Governor commenced the day’s engagements by attending the wedding fatiha of Kamal Wada Karaye and his bride, Farida Abdulmumin, where he served as Wakili. Kamal is the son of a former member of the Kano State House of Assembly who represented Karaye Constituency. The marriage was solemnised with a dowry of One Hundred Thousand Naira (₦100,000).
Kano Pledges Stronger Sudan Partnership
Following the wedding ceremony, Alhaji Garo proceeded to Karkasara Quarters in Tarauni Local Government Area, where he paid a sympathy visit to Alhaji Rabiu Abdullahi Garun Danga, the father-in-law of the former Commander-General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Sheikh Harun Ibn Sina.
The Deputy Governor thereafter visited Fagge Local Government Area to condole with the former Chairman of Fagge Local Government, Alhaji Habibu Saleh Mai Lemo, over the passing of his mother, Hajiya Aisha Mai Lemo.
He concluded the day’s engagements with a condolence visit to the family of the late Hajiya Ramatu Auwalu at Gadan Kaya Quarters. The deceased, who was the mother of renowned businessman Alhaji Abdu Auwalu, passed away on Thursday at the age of 81.
During the visits, Alhaji Garo offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased and asked Almighty Allah to forgive their shortcomings and admit them into Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed for the bereaved families, asking Allah to grant them the strength, patience, and fortitude to bear the irreparable losses. The Deputy Governor reminded the families that death is an inevitable part of human existence and urged them to remain steadfast in faith while taking solace in prayers and submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
