The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA), through its Rapid Response Team (RRT), has recorded another significant achievement in its commitment to providing timely and inclusive healthcare services, with six patients scheduled for surgery and eight Kannywood practitioners recovering after receiving specialist medical care.
In a statement signed by Aminu Turaki Public Relations officer of the Agency stated that, The interventions were carried out under the directive of the Executive Secretary of KSCHMA, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar, as part of the Agency’s ongoing efforts to ensure that vulnerable residents have access to quality healthcare services regardless of their social or economic status.
The six patients, who were referred by the Rapid Response Team to Sir Muhammad Sunusi Specialist Hospital, underwent comprehensive clinical evaluations, diagnostic investigations, and specialist consultations. Following the assessments, medical experts recommended surgical procedures, which have been scheduled for next week. The patients are currently receiving pre-operative care and are under close medical supervision.
Similarly, eight Kannywood practitioners referred to the hospital have completed their specialist assessments and necessary investigations. Appropriate treatment plans have been instituted, and hospital authorities have confirmed that the patients are responding positively to treatment and are steadily recovering under medical supervision.
Speaking on the development, the Executive Secretary, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar, reaffirmed KSCHMA’s unwavering commitment to providing vulnerable citizens with timely access to specialist healthcare services through the Agency’s Rapid Response framework.
She stated that the interventions are in line with the healthcare vision of the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, under the Kano First Agenda, which prioritises accessible, equitable, and people-centred healthcare delivery.
Dr. Rahila also commended the Zonal Medical Director of Sir Muhammad Sunusi Specialist Hospital, Dr. Usman Tijjani Aliyu, for his unwavering support to the Rapid Response Team and his dedication to ensuring prompt medical attention for patients referred by the Agency.
She added that the strong partnership between KSCHMA and the hospital has continued to strengthen referral coordination, emergency response, and treatment outcomes for vulnerable patients across Kano State.
The Agency assured that it will continue to monitor the progress of all beneficiaries to ensure successful treatment outcomes and improved quality of life.
