CP Afegbua Reaffirms Commitment to Healthcare Security

The Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, CP Rashid Afegbua, has reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with healthcare institutions to ensure the safety and security of healthcare workers, facilities, and patients across the state.
The commitment was made when the leadership of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) paid a courtesy visit to the Cross River State Police Command in Calabar.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ekonkpah Sunday Akata, the Commissioner of Police, who was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, DCP Godwin Etim, warmly received the delegation on behalf of the Command.
During the meeting, both parties discussed strategies to enhance communication, improve emergency response coordination, and strengthen collaboration between the police and the healthcare sector in the interest of public safety.
Representing the Commissioner of Police, DCP Godwin Etim reaffirmed the Command’s readiness to work closely with critical stakeholders and assured the resident doctors of the Police Command’s continued support in providing a secure environment for effective healthcare service delivery.
The leadership of the Association of Resident Doctors commended the Cross River State Police Command for its efforts in safeguarding lives and property and stressed the importance of sustaining the partnership between healthcare institutions and law enforcement agencies.
Both the Police Command and the Association of Resident Doctors reaffirmed their commitment to a productive and enduring partnership aimed at enhancing public safety, strengthening healthcare security, and improving healthcare services across Cross River State.
