By Musa Muhammad Kutama, Calabar

A prominent Islamic scholar, Ustaz Auwal Abdulkarim, has urged Muslims to remain obedient, kind, and supportive to their parents, describing respect for parents as a vital ingredient for success in this life and the hereafter.

Speaking in an interview with our correspondent in Calabar, Ustaz Abdulkarim emphasized the importance of sincerity in worship and dedication to one’s responsibilities.

He advised Muslims to remain faithful in the discharge of their duties and to worship Allah with sincerity, stressing that true success comes through piety and adherence to Islamic teachings.

The cleric also cautioned against nepotism and all forms of social vices, noting that Islam promotes justice, compassion, honesty, and harmonious relationships among people regardless of their religious background.

According to him, Muslims should uphold the values of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and good character in their interactions with others, as these principles are central to the teachings of Islam.

Ustaz Abdulkarim further called on Muslims to remain loyal to their leaders and religious authorities, provided their guidance is consistent with Islamic principles, adding that the fear of Allah remains the foundation of success and righteousness.

He concluded by encouraging the faithful to live exemplary lives guided by the Qur’an and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), while fostering unity, peace, and moral uprightness within society.
