Ayagi Teachers Forum Honours Dr. Muhammad Ismail on Earning PhD from University of Nigeria, Nsukka

In recognition of a lifetime of service to education and humanity, the Ayagi Teachers Forum organised a grand reception in honour of renowned educationist and administrator, Dr. Muhammad Ismail, following his successful attainment of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
The event was organised by teachers who secured employment under the Dala Local Government Education Authority during Dr. Ismail’s tenure as Education Secretary between 2004 and 2010. The beneficiaries of the recruitment exercises conducted in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 came together under the umbrella of the Ayagi Teachers Forum to celebrate a leader they described as a mentor, benefactor, and visionary administrator whose commitment to education transformed countless lives.

The colourful ceremony attracted community leaders, education stakeholders, scholars, colleagues, family members, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate Dr. Ismail’s remarkable academic achievement and his enduring contributions to educational development, leadership, and community service.
The organisers stated that the event was not only to celebrate his doctoral success but also to appreciate his role in creating opportunities for hundreds of teachers and youths across Kano State.
During the event, speakers highlighted Dr. Ismail’s inspiring educational journey, which began with Qur’anic and Islamic studies before progressing through formal education. His academic pursuit took him through Government Arabic Teachers College, the Federal College of Education Kano, and other higher institutions, culminating in the award of a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Beyond his academic achievements, Dr. Ismail was commended for his distinguished career in educational administration and public service.
Over the years, he served in several strategic capacities, including Educational Evaluator, Admission Officer, Secretary of Education Committees, and Education Secretary of Dala Local Government Area.
His leadership was credited with creating employment opportunities for hundreds of youths, strengthening educational service delivery, and promoting institutional development within the education sector.
The forum further acknowledged his contributions to teacher development and educational infrastructure.
Speakers noted that he facilitated professional training opportunities for teachers, supported the establishment of science-focused schools, promoted special education initiatives, and championed policies that enhanced educational standards across Kano State.
His visionary leadership earned him respect among educational administrators and stakeholders both within and outside the state.
