Kano Pilgrims Welfare Board Completes Refund of 2026 Hajj Fare Balance

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the successful payment of all outstanding refunds to intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise who earlier paid the initial Hajj fare.
The Director General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, disclosed this during an interview with journalists, stating that about five batches of pilgrims have so far benefited from the refund process.
He explained that the initial Hajj fare was fixed at ₦8,500,000 before it was later reduced to ₦7,696,813, leading to a balance which has now been fully refunded to the affected pilgrims.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations officer of the Board Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi stressed that, Alhaji Matawalle advised any pilgrim yet to receive the refund to contact their respective banks or liaise with Hajj officers in their local government areas for necessary clarification.
He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to transparency and efficient service delivery, noting that all outstanding refund obligations have now been settled.
