KSPHCMB, NPHCDA Engage LGA Chairmen, District Heads for April 2026 Polio Drive

The Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB), in partnership with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) and development partners, convened a high-level sensitization session today for Local Government Area (LGA) Chairmen and District Heads at the Board’s headquarters in Naibawa, Kano.IMG 20260430 WA0086 IMG 20260430 WA0074

The engagement aims to strengthen grassroots leadership coordination and drive community acceptance ahead of the April 2026 Polio Vaccination Campaign.

Prof. Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, Director General of KSPHCMB, underscored the crucial role of political and traditional leaders in achieving full vaccination coverage. He called for intensified advocacy, dispelling misinformation, building public trust, and ensuring every eligible child is reached.

Hon. Tajo Mahmoud Gaya, ALGON representative and Chairman of Gaya LGA, reaffirmed LGA chairmen’s commitment to the campaign, promising active mobilization, close collaboration with health teams, and effective grassroots engagement.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations officer of the Board Sa’adatu Suleiman disclosed that, The initiative is part of ongoing efforts by KSPHCMB and NPHCDA to sustain polio eradication gains in Kano State. The Board reiterated its dedication to a successful, inclusive, and high-impact vaccination campaign.
