The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore, has inaugurated the reconstruction of the Gwangwan Bridge and the road project connecting the communities of Rogo–Ruma, Gwangwan, Ruwan Bago, and Falgore.

The bridge, which collapsed during last year’s rainy season, had caused serious difficulties for residents, particularly farmers transporting their produce across the affected communities.

The project is expected to improve access and ease the movement of agricultural products during the current farming season, helping farmers reduce post-harvest losses and improve economic activities in the area.

The initiative is part of the Kano State Government’s ongoing commitment under the leadership of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf to expand infrastructure development, especially in rural communities, in order to facilitate the movement of goods and services to local and external markets.

This was disclosed in a statement issued to the press by the Information Officer of Rogo Local Government, Abdu Bako Abdullahi, ANIPR.

According to the statement, the intervention followed repeated complaints from residents of the affected communities, who lamented the hardship they experienced and the losses suffered by farmers after the collapse of the bridge.

Speaking during the inauguration, the Councillor representing Gwangwan Ward, Usamatu Magaji Gwangwan, said the Speaker assured residents that the bridge project would be completed within six months. He noted that the project would greatly support farmers by improving transportation and boosting agricultural productivity in the area.

The councillor also expressed appreciation to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore; the Director of State Programmes, Abdullahi Ibrahim Rogo; the Chairman of Rogo Local Government Council, Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha Rogo; and other stakeholders for their continued support and commitment to the development of Rogo Local Government.
