Kano Government Delivers Majority of Campaign Promises Through Massive Infrastructure Projects – Commissioner Marwan

The Kano State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Marwan Ahmad Aminu, has stated that the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has fulfilled the greater part of its campaign promises through the execution of major infrastructure projects across the state. Speaking during an interview with journalists in his office, the Commissioner said the remaining projects are at advanced stages and are expected to be completed within the next few months.
Engr. Marwan disclosed that the government has completed over five-kilometre rural road projects in more than 20 Local Government Areas, many of which have been dualised and fitted with solar-powered streetlights to improve security, transportation, and economic activities. He added that under the Urban Renewal Programme, about 24 road projects within Kano metropolis have been completed or are nearing completion, while two major bridges have also been completed and are awaiting commissioning.

In a statement issued by by Information officer of the Ministry Saude Muktar Adnan stated that, The Commissioner further revealed that the administration has continued work on inherited projects, including the Janguza–Karaye Road, while initiating strategic new roads such as Panda–Hamdullahi–Albasu, Rogo–Bare–Falgore–Mahangi, and Dambatta–Makoda–Kasuwar Kuka–Sudawa. He noted that four pedestrian bridges have been completed, with ten additional bridges planned, bringing the total length of roads constructed, rehabilitated, reconstructed, and expanded under the present administration to approximately 612 kilometres.
On public infrastructure, Engr. Marwan said the government has renovated major government offices, including the Murtala Muhammad and Audu Bako Secretariats, upgraded 20 Skills Acquisition Centres, and embarked on the construction of a modern Psychiatric Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre at Dorayi. He added that several hospitals and 19 court buildings have also been renovated to improve healthcare delivery and strengthen the justice system across the state.
The Commissioner also highlighted the installation of over 12,000 solar-powered streetlights under different phases of the state’s street lighting programme, alongside the rehabilitation of fire service facilities and the provision of modern firefighting equipment to enhance emergency response. He commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his commitment to infrastructure development and urged residents to protect public facilities by discouraging vandalism and supporting government efforts toward sustainable development.
