SOHT Kano Set to Introduce Degree Programme in Community Health Sciences

The management of School of Health Technology Kano has concluded plans to commence a Bachelor Degree programme in Community Health Sciences as part of efforts to strengthen and upgrade theIMG 20260516 WA0007 IMG 20260516 WA0165 IMG 20260516 WA0008 institution’s academic standards.
This was disclosed by the Principal of the institution, Hajiya Rakiya Mukhtar, in a statement issued by the school’s spokesperson, Malam Musa A.M., on Friday.

According to the statement, the institution recently hosted an accreditation team from the Community Health Practitioners’ Registration Board of Nigeria alongside officials from the affiliating university to facilitate the process for the takeoff of the new degree programme.
The statement further revealed that the institution is making arrangements to introduce postgraduate diploma programmes in about seven different fields in the near future.
In the same development, the school is currently hosting the re-accreditation exercise for Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW) and Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW) programmes by the Community Health Practitioners’ Registration Board of Nigeria, which commenced yesterday and is expected to end tomorrow.
The management expressed optimism that the new academic programmes and accreditation exercises would further enhance the institution’s contribution to healthcare manpower development in Nigeria.
