KNSG Strengthens Partnership with FG, Donors to Boost Education Sector

The Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Federal Government and development partners towards improving the education sector in the state. 
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made this known when the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmed, paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Kano.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mustapha Muhammad disclosed that, Governor Yusuf administration would continue to support all initiatives aimed at advancing education and improving learning outcomes across the state.
“We will continue to collaborate and support every effort geared towards the development of education in Kano State,” the Governor said.
He noted that the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project has emerged as a beacon of hope in strengthening the education sector through infrastructural development and capacity building for teachers.
Earlier, the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmed, informed the Governor that Kano State had successfully secured the World Bank’s No Objection approval for the construction of 49 new schools under the AGILE Project at the cost of Twenty-Three Billion Naira (N23 billion).
She disclosed that contractors handling the projects had already been mobilized to sites, adding that the initiative would significantly expand access to education, especially for underserved communities.
Professor Suwaiba also commended the Kano State Government for the quality of projects executed in schools across the state, citing some of the schools she visited. She urged the AGILE Project implementation team to emulate the state government’s standard in project execution.
