Governor Yusuf Charges Kano Pilgrims on Discipline, Donates 200 Riyals and Free Ihram

The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has called on intending pilgrims from the state to conduct themselves as worthy ambassadors during the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Governor made the call during a practical demonstration session for intending pilgrims held at the Hajj Camp ahead of their departure to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mustapha Muhammad, on Sunday.
Represented by the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Murtala Sule Garo, the Governor stressed that the conduct of pilgrims would reflect the image and values of Kano State and Nigeria at large.
He urged the pilgrims to uphold the principles of discipline, humility, brotherhood, and peaceful coexistence throughout their stay in the Holy Land.
“You are going to a land where millions of Muslims from across the world will gather. Let your conduct reflect the true spirit of Islam. Respect the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and adhere strictly to the guidelines provided by officials,” the Governor stated.
As part of the state government’s support to the pilgrims, Governor Yusuf announced a donation of 200 Saudi Riyals to each intending pilgrim to ease their stay during the pilgrimage.
The Governor also provided free Ihram materials to all pilgrims, with the Deputy Governor distributing samples to some beneficiaries at the Hajj Camp.
Earlier, the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, expressed appreciation to the Governor for his continued support and commitment toward the success of the 2026 Hajj operations.
He disclosed that despite several operational challenges, the Board successfully secured visas for all registered pilgrims.
The Director General further announced that the first batch of pilgrims from Kano State is scheduled to depart for Madinah on 14 May 2026.
