FutureEdged, SVTC, Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Hashim Foundation Graduate 150 Women in Entrepreneurship, Business Skills

The FutureEdged Educational and Entrepreneurship Foundation, in collaboration with the Saye Vocational Training Centre and the Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Hashim Foundation, has graduated 150 women under the Nasara Programme Phase I, equipping them with vocational, entrepreneurial and business management skills to promote self-reliance, job creation and economic development.
The graduation and flag-off ceremony of 500 women Nasara Programme 
phase II brought together government officials, development partners, civil society organizations, community leaders and beneficiaries to celebrate the successful completion of the programme and reaffirm their commitment to empowering women through sustainable livelihood initiatives.
Speaking at the event, the Kano State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Hashim, described the ceremony as a celebration of the fruits of collective investment in human capital, stressing that empowering women with practical skills remains one of the most effective strategies for reducing poverty and strengthening communities.
The Chief Executive Officer and Founder of FutureEdged Educational and Entrepreneurship Foundation, Dr. Binta Bala, expressed appreciation to the Special Guest of Honour, partners, trainers, donors and supporters whose contributions ensured the successful implementation of the programme.
She explained that the Nasara Programme was established to empower women through practical training in the production of detergents, bathing and laundry soaps, liquid soap, body lotion, hand sanitizer, shampoo, car wash liquid, tile cleaner, room air fresheners and other household products. Participants also received entrepreneurship training covering business planning, market opportunities, financial management and modern business practices.
Dr. Bala urged the graduates to translate the knowledge acquired into viable businesses capable of improving their livelihoods and creating employment opportunities within their communities. She described the certificates presented to the beneficiaries as the beginning of a new journey toward economic independence rather than the end of their learning process.
One of the major highlights of the event was the inauguration of the Nasara Programme Women Cooperative Association, made up of 150 members, to encourage collaboration, access to finance and sustainable business growth. The cooperative is expected to be formally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to strengthen its operations.
The organisers also presented awards to distinguished individuals and organisations in recognition of their contributions to the success of the programme. Two persons living with disabilities received tricycles to improve their mobility, while all graduating participants were presented with certificates and startup capital to enable them to establish and expand their businesses.
Goodwill messages were delivered by partner organisations, including the Kanawa Educational Foundation for the Disabled, Isa Wali Foundation and other stakeholders, who commended the initiative for promoting inclusive development and women empowerment.
In his vote of thanks, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Saye Vocational Training Centre, Malam Yusha’u Abdul Saye, encouraged the beneficiaries to make productive use of the knowledge and skills acquired during the training and to transfer the knowledge to others in their communities.
He also expressed appreciation to all partners, facilitators, donors, volunteers, media organisations and supporters whose collective efforts contributed to the successful training of the 500 women.
