Katsina Islamic Scholars Endorse Tinubu, Radda for Second Term

Islamic scholars from the 34 Local Government Areas of Katsina State, under the auspices of the Ma’assasa Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Foundation, have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dikko Umar Radda for a second term in office.
The endorsement was announced during a special prayer session and empowerment programme for over 500 women organised by the Abdulaziz Maituraka Foundation in Katsina.
Speaking on behalf of the foundation, Sheikh Nasiru Dahiru Bauchi said the decision to support President Tinubu and Governor Radda was based on what he described as their impressive performance and commitment to good governance. He also commended both leaders for their continued support to religious organisations and initiatives.
While leading the gathering in Qur’anic recitations and prayers, Sheikh Nasiru particularly praised Governor Radda’s efforts in tackling insecurity across Katsina State, describing the administration’s interventions as commendable.
Earlier, the convener of the event, Abdulaziz Maituraka, said the prayer session was organised to seek Allah’s intervention in restoring lasting peace and ending insecurity in Katsina State and Nigeria. He added that the gathering also served as an opportunity to endorse President Tinubu, Governor Radda and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
An APC chieftain at the event highlighted the achievements of the APC-led administrations at both the federal and state levels and applauded the Ma’assasa Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Foundation for its endorsement of the President and the Governor.
The APC leader later joined other dignitaries in distributing empowerment packages to over 500 women. Each beneficiary received a 50-kilogram bag of soya beans, cooking oil and a cash grant of ₦10,000 to enhance their economic self-reliance.
Governor Dikko Umar Radda, in his remarks, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to partnering with organisations and individuals in the fight against insecurity. He expressed concern over reports that some individuals and communities were aiding bandits by supplying them with food, fuel and intelligence used to attack innocent citizens.
The governor called for greater public cooperation to overcome the security challenges confronting the country. He also commended Islamic scholars in the state for their sustained prayers for peace and urged them to continue seeking divine intervention.
Governor Radda further praised Abdulaziz Maituraka for his humanitarian support to vulnerable persons, including widows and orphans.
Former Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, also addressed the gathering, commending Governor Radda’s leadership and noting that the state had recorded significant progress across various sectors under his administration.
