Accord Party Governorship Candidate Condemns Killing of Kano Political Commentator

The Kano State governorship candidate of the Accord Party (AP), Ambassador Mukhtar Gashash, has strongly condemned the brutal killing of social media political commentator, Ibrahim Khalil Dan Shagamu, in Gaida community, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.
Ambassador Gashash described the incident as shocking, tragic and deeply disturbing, saying it should concern every peace-loving citizen. He stressed that no individual should lose his life for expressing an opinion, noting that the Nigerian Constitution guarantees every citizen the right to freedom of expression and the freedom to hold personal views.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Ambassador Gashash described the killing as “a heinous act of violence and a completely condemnable crime.”
He called on security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident, identify those responsible, and ensure they are arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
According to reports, Dan Shagamu was attacked and killed inside his residence in Gaida, an incident that has left residents of the area in shock and renewed concerns over the safety of individuals who use social media platforms to express their opinions on public affairs.
The Accord Party governorship candidate also appealed to the people of Kano State to remain calm, refrain from taking the law into their own hands or seeking revenge, and instead cooperate with security agencies by providing any useful information that could assist in identifying and apprehending those behind the killing.
