Kano Pilgrims: Submit Passports by Aug 25 or Lose Hajj Seat

By Maikudi Muhammad Marafa

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has issued a final directive mandating that all registered intending pilgrims submit their valid international passports on or before August 25, 2026, or risk forfeiting their Hajj allocation.

In a statement released by the Public Relations officer of the Board Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi stated that, the Board’s Director-General, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, emphasized that the strict deadline is critical to completing enrolment and documentation ahead of the anticipated closure of the Saudi Arabian Hajj registration server, which is expected toward the end of August.

“Any registered pilgrim who fails to submit their international passport by the stipulated date may not be allocated a Hajj seat,” warned Alhaji Matawalle. He further stressed that the Board will not be held responsible for any consequences resulting from non-compliance.

Intending pilgrims who have not yet submitted their documents are urged to act immediately and deliver their passports to the appropriate authorities before the cutoff date.

All registered pilgrims are advised to treat this directive with the utmost urgency to avoid disqualification.
