Waiya Seeks Stronger Alliance with Support Groups to Consolidate Governor Abba’s Achievements

The Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with political support groups and community stakeholders as part of efforts to sustain the developmental strides of the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and consolidate support ahead of the 2027 general elections.

KNSG Reaffirms Commitment to Restoring Sanity in Land Administration

The Commissioner made the commitment on Tuesday while receiving two separate delegations in his office: the Forum of Ex-Caretaker Councillors who served between 2017 and 2018, and members of the North West APC Women Media Group.

Addressing the Forum of Ex-Caretaker Councillors, Comrade Waiya stated that the remarkable achievements recorded by the present administration have created a strong foundation for the continued progress of Kano State, stressing that all well-meaning citizens should unite in support of the government’s development agenda.

He disclosed that the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has initiated and executed more than 1,500 projects across the state’s 44 Local Government Areas, covering critical sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, youth and women empowerment, as well as infrastructure development.

According to him, while many of the projects have been completed, others are at various stages of implementation, all aimed at improving the living standards of the people of Kano State.

The Commissioner also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for approving the payment of outstanding entitlements to former councillors, describing the gesture as timely, compassionate and a demonstration of responsible leadership. He noted that the decision has brought relief to many beneficiaries and reflects the administration’s commitment to the welfare of those who have served the state.

Comrade Waiya, however, expressed concern over attempts by some opposition elements to politicize the payment, insisting that the Governor acted solely in the interest of justice and public service.

He urged members of the Forum to remain united and continue supporting the administration’s vision, emphasizing that their decision to back Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for a second term is a reflection of their commitment to the continued development and prosperity of Kano State.

He further assured the Forum of the Ministry’s readiness to work closely with them in mobilizing public support and promoting the achievements of the government ahead of the 2027 elections.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Ahmed Hamza Danlabaran, said the delegation visited the Commissioner to formally declare their unwavering support for the re-election of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

He commended the Governor for settling the outstanding entitlements of former councillors, describing the action as a clear demonstration of humility, compassion and quality leadership. He also appealed to the state government to extend similar consideration to former Caretaker Councillors in order to improve their welfare.

In a related development, Comrade Waiya also received members of the North West APC Women Media Group, led by its Chairperson, Hajiya Karimatu Musa Kofar Nasarawa.

The Chairperson explained that the visit was to brief the Commissioner on the group’s activities and seek the Ministry’s support for its campaign aimed at promoting the re-election of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

She applauded Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the administration’s achievements across key sectors and commended Comrade Waiya for his commitment to effectively communicating government policies and programmes to the public.

Responding, the Commissioner expressed appreciation for the visit and acknowledged the important role of women and media support groups in promoting good governance and public awareness.

In a statement signed by the Director Public Enlightenment of the Ministry Malam Balarabe Abdullahi KIRU disclosed that, the assured the delegation of the Ministry’s continued support and collaboration in publicizing the achievements and developmental programmes of both the Kano State and Federal Governments.
