As part of his integrated and comprehensive HIV response, the DG Kano State Agency for the Control of AIDS Dr. Usman Bashir has called for accurate biometric enrollment of people living with HIV for easy identification and classification.

The DG made this known during a review meeting with Joint Supportive Supervision teams who separately presented their reports on findings from the facilities they visited, notably Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Dala MCH, SMSH, and Kumbotso CHC.

Dr. Usman Bashir stated that the state government will no longer tolerate ghosting of clients to establish efficient system of record aimed at ensuring proper resource allocation for the right clients.

He also noted that the agency will only consider clients who have valid NIN, phone numbers and contact address when empowerment programs and other opportunities are realized.
Appreciating the efforts of the teams for proper handling of the exercise, the DG urged for prompt action to address all challenges found in the affected facilities.
