The former Governor of Kano State Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (OFR and Khadimul Islam) has been in political and administrative space in Nigeria since 1978. He is a good leader, political strategist and pragmatic politician (Practical, concerned with making decisions and actions that are useful in practice, not just theory).
His Experience in political activities began since 1978 in the Second Republic as a member of National Party of Nigeria (NPN) and Secretary of the Party in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area (by then this writer Abbati Bako was an active youths Leader in Jakara Constituency in NPN’s KMC) and later on was a civil servant. H/E Ganduje has been a servant of Kano State and Nigeria at large.
He was one time Permanent Secretary/Commissioner in Kano State. He was two times Deputy Governor in Kano State and two times Governor and his positive performances as a leader was beyond measure. He will certainly be remembered forever in Nigeria and especially in Kano State.
Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (OFR) is a classical leader, rich in experience, patience, healthy and active as well as accept advise that will move the nation’s economy, security and positive development. He is an icon of democracy and not afraid of storms in political brouhaha. He is humble, respectful, planner, focus with positive vision and mission as well as good listener. And he did his best in developing Kano State especially in the issue of security and infrastructure, healthcare, education and none stop of payment of monthly salaries and wages for the civil servants for good 8 years in the State.
He built many flyovers and underpass at different locations in Kano. Since the creation of Kano in April 1967 Dr. AU Ganduje must be placed amongst the top best three Governors that their performances were beyond measure.
He created Sa’adatu Rimi University, Cancer Center (which will be of benefits not only in Nigeria but in the entire African/South South Continent of the world) and uncountable roads in the State. Also, in terms of security, Kano State has been the number one most peaceful State in Nigeria.

- His 45 years of experience in politics and administration.
- The current President of Nigeria Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and every political stakeholder in Nigeria is a witness that Dr. Ganduje is a proven political strategist despite the huge negative propaganda against him in his State.
- As an APC National Chairman in Nigeria Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje will start looking into the coming year of 2027 and what to do to please and convince Nigerians, internal and external political and economic stakeholders to vote for the party for the continuation of positive development in Nigeria. This means that he will use his political and administrative experience to advise the Federal Government on several decision making that will please Nigerians.
