Sabon Gari, Singa and Galadima Markets Launch 3-Day Security Operation and Performance Enhancement Training

The Management Board of Sabon Gari, Singa and Galadima Markets has commenced a three-day intensive security operation and performance enhancement training for both day and night security personnel across the three markets. The exercise was officially flagged off by the Managing Director, Alhaji Abdul Bashir Hussien.
In a statement signed by Ado Haruna Muhd the Public Relations officer of the Markets disclosed that, The training is designed to strengthen intelligence gathering, sharpen operational skills, and boost the professionalism of security teams responsible for safeguarding traders, visitors, and property within the markets.

In his address, Alhaji Abdul Bashir Hussien highlighted the crucial role of market security operatives in protecting lives and property. He reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to improving security architecture and enhancing effective surveillance across all markets under its jurisdiction.
He further disclosed that new working tools have been provided to support the personnel, especially those on night duty. The items include:
New security uniforms
Communication devices (walkie-talkies)
The Managing Director also assured the personnel that their monthly allowances will be reviewed upward beginning from the new year.

Alhaji Abdul Bashir expressed appreciation to security agencies supporting the Markets Authority, including the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). He also thanked the Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for consistently approving initiatives aimed at strengthening market security operations.
Speaking on behalf of the trainees, the Head of Day Security Operations, Nura Auwalu, expressed gratitude for the training, noting that such an initiative had never been introduced until the appointment of Alhaji Abdul Bashir Hussien. He also thanked the Governor for enabling the development.
Also present was the Police Officer in Charge of Sabon Gari Market, represented by S.O. Badamasi Bashir. He commended the program and acknowledged the strong collaboration between the police and market security personnel, noting their effectiveness in reporting suspicious activities promptly.
