Rimin Gado LGA Launches Major Health Campaign to Combat Diphtheria and Other Diseases
The Rimin Gado Local Government Area (LGA) has officially launched a large-scale health campaign aimed at tackling diphtheria and other prevalent diseases affecting the community. The initiative, executed in partnership with the Kano State Government and the independent organization Annur, seeks to provide critical healthcare services to residents.

Information Officer explained that, The launching ceremony, held at the local health center, featured key stakeholders, including representatives from the Rimin Gado LGA and Annur. The Executive Chairman of Rimin Gado LGA, Alhaji Muhammadu Sani Salisu Jili, represented by the Local Government Health Councillor, Dr. Mukhtar Doka Dawa, expressed deep appreciation to the Kano State Government for supporting the initiative. He praised the campaign’s successful kickoff and voiced optimism for its seamless execution and long-term impact.
Ibrahim Muhammad, Chairman of Annur Organization, lauded the Kano State Government’s commitment, particularly the approval by the Executive Governor of Kano State to extend the campaign across all 44 local government areas. He reiterated that the program is designed to curb the spread of diphtheria and other common illnesses, ensuring broader access to healthcare for vulnerable populations.
Beneficiaries of the campaign also shared their gratitude. Jafaru Umar, a local resident who received free treatment alongside his son, thanked the Kano State Government, the Rimin Gado LGA leadership, and Annur for their humanitarian efforts. Similarly, Maryam Muhammad Inuwa, a mother whose daughter suffers from intestinal obstruction, expressed relief and appreciation for the opportunity to access free screening and treatment.
This initiative underscores the Rimin Gado LGA’s commitment to improving public health and aligns with the Kano State Government’s broader healthcare objectives.
