Her Excellency, Professor Hafsat Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has left an indelible mark in Kano State through her numerous initiatives and programs. As the former wife of the Governor, she championed women’s empowerment, anti-drug campaigns, maternal and child care services, and support for orphans and vulnerable children. Her dedication to the people of Kano’s well-being is truly commendable.
As a devoted wife, she supported her husband, His Excellency, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, during his tenure as Governor, contributing significantly to Kano State’s development. His administration completed many abandoned projects, initiated gigantic infrastructure projects, and promoted education, health, and commerce among others.
History will remember Her Excellency, Professor Hafsat Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as the initiator of the Kano State Anthem. Her notable achievements include:
Women Empowerment Programs: Distributing educational materials, sewing machines, and small-business grants for women’s economic independence.
Anti-Drug Initiatives: Campaigns addressing drug addiction among youth and women in Northern Nigeria.
Maternal and Child Care: Improving healthcare services for mothers and children, particularly in rural areas.
Support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children: Providing care, support and guidance.
Professor Ganduje’s legacy testifies to her dedication, compassion, and commitment to Kano’s people.
