Mangal Foundation Spends N80 Million to Sponsor Urology Surgeries for 3,000 Vulnerable Patients in Katsina

In a significant humanitarian effort, the Mangal Foundation, a non-governmental organization based in Katsina, has invested over N80 million to provide free urology surgeries and medical treatment for vulnerable patients across the state.

The announcement was made by Mr. Husaaini Kabir, a member of the foundation’s Board of Trustees, during the launch of this quarter’s medical outreach program in Katsina.
Since the initiative began, more than 3,000 patients have benefited from the program across 10 previous medical interventions. For the second quarter of this year alone, the foundation has allocated N20 million to cover surgeries and treatments for over 100 patients. Those not requiring surgery will receive free medical consultations and medications.
Mr. Kabir emphasized that the initiative is part of the foundation’s corporate social responsibility, aimed at giving back to society, particularly the less privileged. The program has extended its reach beyond Katsina, benefiting individuals from neighboring states and even the Niger Republic.
“Our primary goal is to alleviate the burden of healthcare costs on the most vulnerable, many of whom struggle to afford basic medical care,” Kabir stated.

The ongoing medical screening is being conducted at Amadi Rimi Orthopaedic Hospital in Batagarawa Local Government Area. The foundation has engaged top-tier medical professionals and procured high-quality drugs and equipment to ensure successful surgeries and treatments.
Established in 2016, the Mangal Foundation focuses on empowerment, education, healthcare, and economic skill development for the underprivileged. Beyond urology, the foundation has previously sponsored eye, hernia, and hydrocele surgeries** for thousands of patients.

One of the beneficiaries, Malam Adamu Aliyu, a staff member of Katsina State Polytechnic, shared his relief at receiving the much-needed surgery. “My salary could never cover the cost of this procedure. I am deeply grateful to the Mangal Foundation for this lifeline,” he said.
Other beneficiaries also praised the initiative, urging government agencies, private organizations, and affluent individuals to emulate the foundation’s efforts in supporting healthcare accessibility for the poor.
