KNSG Strengthens Partnership with NGOs on Education Development
Kano State Government has reiterated it’s determination to strengthen good working relationship with Non-Governmental Organisations to enhance the education sector.

The State Commissioner of Education Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda gave the assurance today Wednesday while supervising teaching materials donated by Plan International and its consortium partners at the Ministry Premises.

Ali Makoda said there is no better time to work with any organisation or individual willing to assist towards reviving education than now as the administration of Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf is highly committed in creating conducive teaching and learning environment in the state.
” It is the best time to work as a team and develop the education sector being the number one priority of the present administration. This government had embarked on so many programmes geared towards overhauling the entire sector for achieving accessible and quality education. he said.
While commenting on the project being implemented in Kano, Jigawa and Sokoto by Plan titled: Accelerating Basic Education and Livelihood Opportunities for Children and Youth in North-Western Nigeria (ABEP) Dr. Makoda explained that the project would go along in enhancing access to quality basic education and livelihood opportunities for children and youth in the targeted states.
He therefore acknowledged the support of Plan International and its consortium partners for bringing the project to Kano and donating the learning materials.
Makoda assured that the materials would be judiciously utilized to achieve better results in promoting the education standard.
Earlier, the Project Coordinator Plan International David Okay announced that over 6,000 learning materials were donated by the organization which would be distributed across five local government areas that include Kumbotso, Nasarawa, Gwale, Tudun Wada, and Rimin Gado.
According to the coordinator, the materials include exercise books, pen, bags, ruler, sharpener, erasers, chalk board, chalk, textbooks, jacket and other working material for the learning facilitators across 72 classes in the designated 20 learning centers.
He said the distribution exercise was made possible with funding support of the European Union under the Accelerating Basic Education and Livelihood Opportunities (ABEP).
Mr. David thanked Kano State Government for the usual support and cooperation given to them and assured of the organization’s continuous intervention on education programmes.
