KNSG Needs Over 6m Vaccine Doses To Attack Diphtheria

Kano state governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has said that the state needs over six million doses of vaccine to fight against diphtheria disease.


He made the assertion when the Bill Gates/Melinda Foundation when they paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Kano, Tuesday.


The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo said his administration is working tirelessly to make sure that healthcare delivery receives the desired attention right from the Primary Health Care (PHC) level in the state.


Comrade Abdussalam reaffirms the administration’s desire to continue partnering with the foundation and hope that the Gate/Melinda Foundation will expand its contribution towards agriculture and economy.


He commends the foundation for its effort towards development in various aspects of life especially in health and education.


The foundation’s country representative in Nigeria, Mr. Jeremy Zungurana said they are in Kano to extend mutual relationship with the government of Kano state which was established 11 years ago.


He also commended the state government for its wonderful performance on health right from primary health care and promises to extend their contribution towards agriculture and digital economy.
