KNSG Inaugurates Technical Committee for Transportation Policy Development

The Kano State government has officially inaugurated a Technical Committee dedicated to formulating a comprehensive green paper on the state’s transportation policy.

During the inauguration, the State Commissioner for Transport, Engr. Muhammad Ibrahim Diggol, emphasized the administration’s commitment to enhancing the transportation system to align with best practices from advanced countries. He stated the importance of having a robust transport policy that meets the needs of the state’s unique context.

The newly established committee comprises thirty members representing various stakeholders in the transportation sector. Their mandate is to conduct a thorough review of the existing transport policy draft, identifying strengths and weaknesses while incorporating innovative solutions tailored to the peculiarities of Kano State.

Engr. Diggol further noted that the committee aims to develop the most effective transportation policy options to address current gaps, ensuring reliable and efficient public transportation for all residents.

The Commissioner expressed confidence that the expertise of the committee members will lead to a transformative policy that meets the transportation needs of Kano State while promoting sustainable development.
