Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has announced the postponement of the funeral of former President Muhammadu Buhari https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammadu_Buhari to Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in Daura, Katsina State.
The governor made the announcement during a press briefing upon his return from the United Kingdom. He explained that the delay was necessary to allow family members, leaders, and other patriotic Nigerians from across the country and abroad to attend the funeral.

He further stated that the Katsina State Government has completed all necessary arrangements to ensure the burial is conducted with utmost efficiency and dignity, describing the late Buhari as a “humble, honest, and trustworthy patriot.”
The former president passed away over the weekend following a brief illness in London, an event that has triggered deep sorrow and an outpouring of tributes from various parts of Nigeria and the international community.

Condolence registers have been opened in Daura, Abuja, and Nigerian embassies worldwide, Additionally, security measures have been heightened in and around Daura in preparation for the thousands of expected attendees, including top government officials, diplomats, and local residents.
