Katsina Govt Procures 15 Emergency Ambulances

The Katsina State Government has procured 15 mobile emergency ambulances to ensure early treatment and prompt evacuation of victims of road accidents across the state.
Unveiling the ambulances, the Chief of Staff to the Government House, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, said the vehicles will be stationed along major roads to provide round-the-clock emergency response.
He explained that the procurement was driven by the needs of the people and represents the fulfillment of a campaign promise made by Governor Dikko Umar Radda. According to him, the ambulances are fully equipped with essential facilities to provide first aid, immediate treatment, and swift conveyance of accident victims to the nearest health facilities.
Mamman noted that reports have shown many road accident victims lose their lives due to the absence of first aid and delays in reaching hospitals.
“The government is deeply concerned about the high number of lives lost as a result of road accidents and delays in medical response. This situation must change to save lives on our roads,” he said.
He added that beyond emergency response, the ambulances will also enhance healthcare delivery, particularly in rural areas. The state government, he said, will collaborate with officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and health workers to ensure effective utilization of the ambulances.

On broader health sector reforms, Mamman disclosed that the government has commenced the equipping and staffing of Primary Health Care Centres across the state’s 361 wards. He assured that before 2027, each ward across the 34 Local Government Areas will have a functional health centre.
