Karaye Emirate Elders Committee has organized a reception in honour of the elected state house of Assembly member from Emirate.
In a Statement Signed by Malam Haruna Gunduwawa Information officer Karaya Emirate Council Stated that, the reception which was Held at the Grand Central Hotel Kano, was among others to congratulate the newly elected members and to intimate them on need to uphold their responsibilities as law makers on what would have significant impact on people they are representing.
Speaking earlier at the occasion, the Wambai of Karaye District Head of Rogo Alhaji Muhammad Mahraz Said, the decision of the Elders Committee of the Emirate to honour the newly elected members from the eight local governments of Karaye is in line with higher confidence and expectations on them to be good ambassadors of their electorates.
Alhaji Muhammad Mahraz asurred of Karaye Emirate and Elder’s support, advice and Prayers for effective discharge of their mandate.
The District Head charged them to despite their political differences be united for the maximum benefit of people.
In their separate remarks at the occasion, Professor MS Abdulƙadir and Professor Kamilu Sani Fagge both from Bayero University Kano charged the new legislators to always put it in their minds that, they are not for their own, but the people who voted for them.
Professor MS Abdulƙadir strongly advised them to be Honourable members not Horrible Members who were in chamber to kill issues, by deliverating on issues that will create employments, Education, public health and others developmental issues that have direct bearing on the society.
The Professors also advised them to be friendly and lobby with their co- legislators as well as be in contact with people of their respective constituencies to enable know their problems.
Responding on behalf of the honoured members, Sulaiman Muktar of the New Nigerian People Party (NNPP ) representing Madobi and Ayuba Labaran of the All People Congress (APC) representing Kabo local government areas applauded Karaye Emirate Elders Committee for organizing the Reception on their honour.
The Honourable members assured that, they will not let their people down and therefore solicited for the continued support and prayers from the Emirate and people in general.
