Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SuBEB) Hosts Two-Day Training Seminar for Retired Teachers

The Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SuBEB), in collaboration with Summit Alliance Consulting Ltd, successfully organized a two-day training seminar for retired teachers, aimed at enhancing their post-retirement life. The event took place at the Board’s main conference hall, with the participation of distinguished guests, including A Kano State Universal Basic Education Board, Alhaji Wada Ibrahim Daho, the permanent member of the Board, And Board secretary Hajiya Amina Umar.

In his remarks, Mal Yusuf Kabir, who was represented by Alhaji Wada Ibrahim Daho, commended the initiative and expressed the Kano State government’s commitment to improving the welfare of retired workers. He reiterated the support of Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf for such programs, which aim to empower retired civil servants and improve their quality of life.

The seminar covered a wide range of topics designed to help retirees transition smoothly into the next phase of their lives. These included health management post-retirement, agricultural practices, and strategies for economic empowerment. Dr. Zakari Uba, Ph.D., the Lead CEO of Summit Alliance Consulting Ltd, outlined the seminar’s objectives and encouraged retirees to actively participate in the sessions, which included eight key presentations over the two days.

A notable presentation was made by Dr. Muhammad Umar Kibiya, the former Deputy Rector of Kano State Polytechnic. Dr. Kibiya emphasized the importance of self-reliance and seeking professional guidance when venturing into new careers after retirement. He encouraged retirees to consider pursuing personal or community-based businesses to supplement their pensions, thereby ensuring financial independence.

The seminar received enthusiastic participation from a wide audience of retirees, particularly former teachers, who expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and skills for their post-retirement journey.
