Kano State MCH Coordinators Pledge Collaboration with New Primary Health Care DG

The Forum of 44 Local Government Area (LGA) Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Coordinators today paid a courtesy and congratulatory visit to the Director-General of the Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB), Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim.
The delegation, representing MCH coordinators from across the state, visited the Board’s headquarters to formally congratulate Professor Ibrahim on his recent appointment and to reaffirm their commitment to his vision of revitalizing primary health care delivery across Kano State.
Speaking on behalf of the Forum, the Chairperson of the 44 MCH Coordinators commended the Director-General for his outstanding track record in health system strengthening and his renowned dedication to improving outcomes for mothers, newborns, and children. She assured him of the forum’s unwavering readiness to collaborate closely with the Board’s leadership to enhance service delivery, reduce maternal and child mortality, and accelerate progress toward achieving universal health coverage in the state.
In his response, Professor Ibrahim expressed his profound appreciation for the coordinators’ show of solidarity and commitment. He emphasized the critical role of Maternal and Child Health services as the cornerstone of an effective primary health care system.
The DG assured the forum of the Board’s continuous support, pledging to provide enabling policies, robust supervision, and essential logistics to enhance their work at the grassroots level. He charged the coordinators to remain dedicated in their duties, strengthen community engagement initiatives, and work tirelessly to ensure every woman and child in Kano State has access to quality, affordable, and equitable health services.
The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge of partnership and cooperation between the Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board and the Forum of 44 MCH Coordinators, underscoring a shared resolve to advance the health agenda of the state.
