Kano State Information Officers Forum Elects New Leadership to Drive Grassroots Communication

The Forum of Information Officers under the Kano State Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs has elected new executives following the conclusion of a two-day capacity-building workshop for officers across the state’s 44 local government areas. The event, held at Central Hotel in Kano, marked a pivotal step in strengthening government communication at the grassroots level.

The newly elected leadership team comprises of Comrade Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai as Chairman, Munzali Muhammad Hausawa, Vice Chairman, Sharif Zahardeen Usman (Kofar Nassarawa) Secretary, Tasi’u Yahaya (Dadin Duniya) Treasurer.

Other Excos are Audu Bako Abdullahi Assistant Secretary, Sani Muhammad Financial Secretary, Auwalu Musa Yola Assistant financial Secretary, Arbabatu Sani Abubakar Auditor and Adamu Iliyasu Hotoro as  Publicity Secretary of the forum.

The Ex-Officio Members: of the forum  includes Muntari Usman Romi, Haruna Bala Muhammad Gunduwawa, Abdullahi Musa Gyadi-Gyadi, Hassan Muhammad, and Muhammad Salisu.

In his inaugural address, Chairman Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai emphasized unity and collaboration among members to enhance the dissemination of government policies and programs. He commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Commissioner for Information Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim Waiya, Commissioner for Local Government Alhaji Tajo Othman Zaura, Permanent Secretary Alhaji Adamu Bala, and Director of Public Enlightenment Alhaji Idris Zakariyau for their unwavering support in facilitating the training.

Yakasai pledged the forum’s full commitment to supporting the state government’s initiatives under Governor Yusuf’s leadership, ensuring members execute their duties with dedication and professionalism. He highlighted the ministry’s efforts in staff development as a key driver of progress.

The election signals a renewed focus on effective public communication, aligning with Kano State’s vision for transparency and grassroots engagement.
