Kano State Government Pledges Road Construction in Sumaila LGA to Boost Socio-Economic Growth
The Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to constructing and rehabilitating key rural roads in Sumaila Local Government Area (LGA), including the roads linking Gani, Dagora, Baita, and Magami to Kwajale. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity and stimulate socio-economic development in the region.
The assurance was given by the Honorable Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdussalam, during a meeting with a delegation from Sumaila LGA at the Ministry’s headquarters. He emphasized the government’s dedication to improving infrastructure in rural communities to foster trade, agriculture, and overall well-being.
Alhaji Abdussalam further disclosed that the state government will soon conduct an extensive tour of all 44 LGAs to evaluate the condition of dilapidated roads for urgent rehabilitation and construction. He urged the people of Sumaila to continue supporting the administration of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, through prayers and cooperation to ensure the successful implementation of developmental projects.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation and Kano State Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Procurement, Alhaji Iro Maaji Sumaila, appealed for the ministry’s intervention in addressing critical road infrastructure needs in Sumaila. He highlighted the importance of accessible roads in boosting local economies and improving livelihoods.
Community representatives, Malam Tasiu Jafar Kwajale and Idris Ya’u Danbawa, expressed gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Commissioner Abdulkadir Abdussalam for their proactive efforts in rural development. They pledged unwavering support to the present administration to ensure the successful execution of people-oriented projects across the state.
