Kano HoS Bids Farewell to Retired Director of Information, Inuwa Idris Yakasai

The Head of Civil Service, Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa, has extolled the virtues of the retired Director of Information, Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs, Alhaji Inuwa Idris Yakasai, describing him as an accomplished and dedicated civil servant who served the state with humility, discipline, and devotion.
Speaking during the weekly Joint Directorate Meeting at his office, where the farewell was held, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa expressed deep admiration for the retiree’s decades of service to the state. He noted that Alhaji Inuwa’s impact will be remembered not only within the civil service but also by the people of Kano State.

“Since the very time I knew Inuwa, he has been a hardworking and cheerful person who smiled even in difficult moments — an attitude that is indeed rare,” the Head of Service remarked.
He revealed that there had been efforts to elevate Alhaji Inuwa to the position of Permanent Secretary, but despite the process not materializing, the retiree remained content and never complained.
Alhaji Musa noted that the outgoing Director had attended the Joint Directorate Meeting following a regular invitation, only for the management to learn that it was his final day in active service. He then, on behalf of the Kano State Government and the entire staff of the Office of the Head of Service, congratulated Alhaji Inuwa Idris Yakasai on his meritorious retirement and wished him success in his future endeavors.
In his remarks, Alhaji Inuwa Idris Yakasai, who also served as Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting him the opportunity to serve Kano State for 35 years.

Reflecting on his career, he described his service years as rewarding and filled with mentorship, hard work, and personal growth. He encouraged serving officers to remain committed and make a positive impact wherever they find themselves.
Alhaji Inuwa expressed his appreciation to the Head of Service and colleagues for the honour accorded him, proudly noting that throughout his 35 years of service — including 16 years as Director — he never had any dispute with anyone.
