Gwarzo Local Government Commissions New Health Centre in Dankado to Strengthen Rural Healthcare Services

The Executive Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government Area, Dr. Mani Tsoho, has achieved another milestone in his administration’s drive to enhance rural healthcare delivery with the commissioning of a new Primary Health Centre in Dankado, located within Sabon Birni Ward.
In a statement signed by the Zonal Information officer Gwarzo Zone Auwalu Musa Yola disclosed that, The commissioning ceremony, attended by senior government officials, traditional leaders, and community representatives, underscored the council’s ongoing commitment to improving access to quality and affordable healthcare across Gwarzo.

Representing the Chairman, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abdulmumin Garba Lakwaya, reaffirmed the administration’s determination to strengthen primary healthcare systems in all wards.
“This new health centre reflects Dr. Mani Tsoho’s vision of ensuring that every resident, especially in rural communities, enjoys timely and affordable medical care,” Hon. Lakwaya stated.
He also commended the Speaker of the Gwarzo Legislative Council, Hon. Ahmad Shehu Sabon Birni, and other councilors for their continued collaboration in implementing impactful community projects that promote sustainable development at the grassroots level.

In his remarks, Hon. Ahmad Shehu Sabon Birni described the new facility as “a beacon of hope” for the people of Dankado and surrounding villages. He lauded the administration’s priority on health and pledged legislative support for policies and initiatives that advance the wellbeing of residents.
Similarly, the Head of the Primary Healthcare Department, Alhaji Tukur Makama, praised the council chairman for his foresight and investment in the health sector. He explained that the centre would help reduce maternal and infant mortality, provide routine immunization, and offer prompt response to emergency cases in the community.
Community leaders, youth groups, and women associations also expressed appreciation to Dr. Mani Tsoho’s administration for turning a long-awaited dream into reality.
The event concluded with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and a guided tour of the new facility, symbolizing a renewed commitment to accessible healthcare for all.
