First Lady’s College, Kano, Ushers in New PTA Leadership with Fresh Mandate and Community Backing

First Lady’s College in Kano State has inaugurated a new executive committee for its Parents Teachers Association (PTA), marking the beginning of a focused four-year term dedicated to advancing the school’s mission and addressing key challenges.
The election process, conducted under the supervision of the State PTA Chairman, Alhaji Dalhatu Salihu, saw the emergence of Alhaji Mamuda Ali as the new PTA Chairman. The newly constituted executive committee is as follows: Alhaji Mamuda Ali, Chairman; Ni’imatullah Bashir, Vice Chairman; Jafar Yusuf Hamisu, Secretary; Harira Alasan, Deputy Secretary; Amir Musa, Treasurer; Umma Ibrahim, Financial Secretary; Prof. Kabir Sulaiman, Auditor; Khadija Muhammad, Welfare Officer; Sunusi Abdullahi Kofar Na’isa, Public Relations Officer I; Kabiru Abba, Public Relations Officer II; and Nawawi Bamalli, Ex-Officio.

In a parallel development, a new Board of Trustees was also constituted to provide strategic guidance. The board comprises Hon. Naf’u Alasan A’a as Chairman, Alhaji Sammani as Vice Chairman, with Buhari Abdulmidallib, Umar Adamu Rabo, and Lawan Sunusi (Secretary) serving as members.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Alhaji Mamuda Ali, expressed profound gratitude to the parents and staff for their trust. He pledged the committee’s unwavering commitment to justifying the mandate through collaborative and purposeful leadership.
The Director-Principal of First Lady’s College welcomed the new PTA body, expressing full readiness for a close working relationship. The principal outlined some of the institution’s pressing needs and voiced strong confidence that the new leadership would play a pivotal role in addressing them.
Alhaji Dalhatu Salihu, the State PTA Chairman, charged the new executives to foster unity and prioritize the collective progress of students, teachers, and the entire school community.
Demonstrating immediate community support, parents at the gathering donated a total sum of ₦472,000 to bolster initial efforts in tackling some of the school’s outlined challenges.
The new PTA leadership is set to commence its tenure immediately, focusing on partnership, transparency, and sustainable development for First Lady’s College.
