FEDERAL AND KEBBI STATE GOVERNMENTS FORGE STRONGER SECURITY ALLIANCE AGAINST BANDITRY
In a significant move to bolster national security, Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON mni, met with Kebbi State Governor Dr. Nasiru Idris on May 8, 2025, to strengthen joint efforts against rising security challenges in the Northwest region.
The high-level security meeting, held at Kebbi State Government House, brought together top security officials from both federal and state levels to develop coordinated strategies against banditry, kidnapping, and related crimes plaguing the region

Governor Idris welcomed the strengthened partnership, stating: “Security remains our top priority. We appreciate the Federal Government’s support and reaffirm our commitment to working with all security agencies to protect our people.”
The meeting concluded with both leaders agreeing to establish a joint task force and regular review mechanism to monitor progress in security operations across the state.
