The Emir of Gaya, Dr Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir has described Emirs as promoters of peace, spread of islamic religion and knowledge and partaking in maintaining the Security of lives and property of their subjects.
The Emir made this known while granting interview to press men at his palace as part of activities line up for the celebration of his second year of his enthronement as the Emir of Gaya Emirate.
According to the Emir, ” like every other emirate under Sokoto caliphate,we are the flag bearers of Sheikh Usman bn Fodio and our main work is to ensure peace and tranquility and people are seeking knowledge on how to perform their religion and live with one another in harmony.”
Dr Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir used the opportunity to called on people of the emirate to adjust their lives according to their economic capacity and admonished wealthy individuals to assist those in need looking at the economic hardship occasioned by the removal of fuel Subsidy in the country.
The Emir appreciated the people of the emirate for their support and cooperation, urged them to live in peace and obey the constituted authority as well as continue to relentlessly pray for the overall development of Gaya Emirate, Kano State and Nigeria in general.
Other activities in the second year celebration include: opening of new Gaya Juma’at Mosque, Special Juma’at Zikhr and prayer at the Emir’s palace.
