Dambatta Local Government Flags Off Construction of Vital Mai Gamji–Maraki Feeder Road
Project Aims to Boost Agricultural Economy and Enhance Rural Connectivity

In an efforts to bolster rural economy and accessibility, the Dambatta Local Government Council today officially flagged off the construction of a six-kilometre feeder road linking the towns of Mai Gamji and Maraki.
The project, a key infrastructural initiative, is designed to ease the transportation of agricultural produce from farms to markets and improve overall mobility for residents.

Presiding over the flag-off ceremony, the Council Chairman, Alhaji Jamilu Abubakar, highlighted that the project was approved by the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, as part of a broader commitment to citizen welfare.
“This road is more than just asphalt; it is a pathway to economic prosperity for our people,” stated Chairman Abubakar. “We urge the community to offer their full cooperation to the contractor to ensure this project is completed smoothly and on time.”
The event was attended by local officials and community leaders, who unanimously praised the development. The Councillor representing Gwarabjawa Ward, Shamsu Ubale Gambo, expressed his gratitude, saying, “We deeply appreciate Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Chairman Jamilu Abubakar for their unwavering commitment to bringing tangible development to our area.”
Community elder Alhaji Musa Sansan echoed this sentiment, describing the project as a direct investment in the local populace. “This road will have a immediate and positive impact on the welfare of our farmers and the growth of local businesses,” he stated.

The community’s support was further emphasized by resident Saminu Hamza Maraki, who declared, “The people are fully behind political efforts that deliver essential social amenities like this. This project is a clear step towards promoting socioeconomic development in our rural communities.”
