Dala Local Government Council Chairman Facilitates Provisional Employment for 168 Health Workers
In a landmark event held at the Dala Local Government Secretariat, 168 individuals were presented with provisional employment letters in the health sector, marking a pivotal step in recognizing the contributions of voluntary workers who have long served without formal acknowledgment.
The Executive Chairman of Dala Local Government Council, Alhaji Surajo Imam presided over the ceremony, underscoring the significance of the initiative. He highlighted Islam’s emphasis on women’s dignity, noting that a majority of the beneficiaries were women. Quoting the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), he stated, Whoever does not show compassion to women is not among us.”
Alhaji Surajo Imam acknowledged that many of the workers had previously served voluntarily or with minimal compensation. He assured that the government is prioritizing the employment of skilled professionals, beginning with agriculture experts, with plans to extend permanent and pensionable appointments to qualified health workers in the near future.
The Chairman commended the unwavering dedication of health workers who support pregnant women and vulnerable community members daily. He also praised the efforts of Alhaji Dauda Zakirai, Director of Administration, and the Head of the Primary Health Department for their rigorous screening process, ensuring only qualified candidates were selected. Additionally, he urged the Kano State Government to approve further recruitment to bolster the health sector.
Alhaji Lawan Ibrahim Getso, Head of the Primary Health Department, welcomed the development, confirming that the workers would now receive monthly allowances. He offered prayers for the council’s leadership, particularly those committed to advancing healthcare in Dala and neighboring communities.
Beneficiaries Malama Sa’adatu Salisu Dan Daji and Aisha Nasir expressed profound gratitude to Allah and the government for the opportunity, hopeful for permanent employment in the future.
This initiative reflects Dala Local Government’s commitment to improving livelihoods and strengthening healthcare delivery for its residents.
