Commissioner for Public Procurement Inspects School of Health Tech, Monitors Major Infrastructure Projects

The Commissioner, Ministry for Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation (MPPPM&E) of Kano State, Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila, yesterday conducted a comprehensive inspection of the ongoing projects at the Kano State School of Health Technology.
The Commissioner, leading a technical monitoring team, personally assessed the progress of key projects, including the perimeter fencing of the female hostel and the newly remodeled main entrance gate of the institution. He was received on campus by the Provost, Hajiya Rakiya Mukhtar, and other senior management staff of the college.
During the tour, the Provost showcased several other completed initiatives, such as a solar-powered borehole executed by the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA. She expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his administration’s unwavering support and commitment to upgrading educational infrastructure across the state.
While commending the state government’s efforts, Provost Mukhtar seized the opportunity to present the institution’s pressing needs to the Commissioner. She appealed for the construction of additional theatres, lecture halls, and office accommodations to adequately accommodate the school’s rapidly expanding student population and maintain its academic standards.
Following the inspection at the School of Health Technology, Comrade Ma’aji Sumaila proceeded to conduct follow-up assessment visits to four other critical state infrastructure projects. These included, The Tudun Yola–Dan Sudu Bypass Road project, Kofar Waika–Unguwar Dabai–Yan Kuje Western Bypass Road project.
other projects inspected are, The Dorawar Yan Kifi project, the 44-kilometer Janguza–Durum–Kabo–Karaye Road project.
Speaking on the ministry’s oversight role, the Commissioner reaffirmed its dedication to rigorous and continuous monitoring of all state-funded projects. He emphasized that this close supervision is crucial to ensuring timely completion, strict adherence to quality specifications, and the efficient use of public funds, all in line with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s vision to deliver durable and quality infrastructure for the people of Kano.
