APC Appoints Alhaji Dalori as New Acting National Chairman
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the appointment of Alhaji Dalori as the party’s new Acting National Chairman, following the resignation of former Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, on Friday.
Dr. Ganduje, who assumed office in August 2023 after the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu, stepped down amid sustained calls from North Central leaders advocating for the region to produce the next party chairman.
In a strategic move to ensure party stability and unity ahead of the 2027 general elections, the APC is set to appoint one of its current National Vice Chairmen as Acting Chairman until a substantive leader is elected at the party’s National Convention in December.
Sources within the APC National Working Committee (NWC) disclosed that Dr. Ganduje, a former Governor of Kano State, was persuaded to resign as part of broader reconciliation efforts within the party.
The APC remains committed to upholding internal democracy, fostering inclusivity, and strengthening its position as Nigeria’s leading political party. Further updates will be communicated in due course.
