Kano State Consumer Protection Council has warned Cooking Oil Company to strictly adhere to the ethics of protecting lives and property of the people.
The Director Consumer Education Tijjani Jafaru, gave the warning while inspecting some cooking oil mills at Gwammaja Masaka in Kano metropolis
He said the warning became imperative in view of how the company’s engaged in doing their business without considering the impact of health hazard associated to that business.
The Director maintained that most of the oil mills company’s in Kano are not suppose to conduct their business in such environment which can led to diseases out break.
Malam Tijjani Jafaru, pointed out that even most of their workers are not undertaking medical test apart from the ingredients mixed with the groundnuts are not medical fit for human consumptions.
He explained that the council would not fold its arm to allow such activity to go unchecked advising public to desist from patronizing cheap products.
The Director called on peoples support and cooperation towards tackling such acts as well as protecting the lives and property of the state saying Kano is not dumping ground for fake or adulterated products.
